1. For yourself - You need a true friend, someone you can put your guard down with, you need someone not afraid to kick your ass and ask you to get up when you are having BS or behaving like an ass. Someone to cry with when you break your toe nail, someone to walk with you in this maze of life. You need that one person that will drop everything and be on your side and stay there even when you insist you want to be alone, someone who will push you because they know your potential and will not accept mediocre from you. You need someone who will tell you, that fifth child your planning to have is a very bad idea because they know your youngest is still in diapers and understand your situation. Yes you need someone for you.
2. For your partner - you need someone to let them know you are special and will kick their ass if they hurt you. You need someone to tell you when you need to get your groove back to keep your man. Your partner needs to know someone they can ask about you. You need a friend whom you are not afraid to leave alone with your man. More so you need someone who with courage will tell you to call it quits when it’s not working.
3. For your children - they need an aunty who spoils them once in a while, one who lets them have a second serving of ice cream and goes to watch startrek with them. They need someone other than their mum they can confide in and not feel judged or be afraid of being told on. You need someone to leave the kids with without worrying if they will be ok, someone who will take them so you can have a night alone with your man or attend a class reunion. You need someone to talk to your daughter about how hard it is being her mom and you are trying your best.
4. For your parents – As you grow older and have children you realize how hard your parents fought to make something out of you, you need an ally to reassure them that you are ok. You need someone to break the news to of your mothers’ poor hearing and your fathers’ arthritis, someone to send to your mum with some sugar over Easter when you are so far. You especially need an ally to deal with in law issues. You need support while explaining to your mother why you are never going to name her, you already have four boys and that’s it for you, someone who will cajole her and make her feel she has been named since their daughter has a name similar to your mothers.
